Mother’s day is Sunday. It’s a bitter sweet day for me now that my nest is empty. I love seeing my children all grown up, but on Mother’s Day I seem to miss them more than ever. I typically spend the day creating something in the studio. I’m sure it will be the same this year. I am excite about the time to create since I’ve not had much time this week to do anything.
Today I am going to share 2 different cards I made using the Simon Says Stamps May stamp set called Blush Flowers. I really love this stamp set. It’s a really beautiful set that covers a lot of different themes.
This card is probably one of my most favorite cards I have ever made. The background is what I love so much. It’s all mixed media yummy!!! I used Distressed Spray Stains, Oxide Spray Stain, Distress Crackle medium, and Distress Crayons to create the background. I stamped the flower in MFT hybrid black ink.
The second card is very subtle. I used the faux watercolor technique to create my background.
So different from the first card, but it’s subtle beauty is perfect for a Mother’s Day card. To create this card I sprayed some watercolor paper with water, then inked up the flower stamps and stamped them. To finish I splattered some Shimmerz Sweet Heart Vibez.
